Bang & Olufsen Turns Your Spotify Lists Into 3D Avatars, Based On Your Tastes

If you have designed your own avatar for an online profile, chat stickers, or a game, you might have tried to get it to look as close to you as possible. Depending on the platform you’re using, this can usually be done by choosing the right hair color, skin complexion, eyes, lips, nose and even if you have a gap in your teeth or not.
Bang & Olufsen, together with its agency partner Hello Monday/Dept, is elevating the game by moving beyond skin tones and hairstyles. Instead, they are harnessing the power of music to conceive a unique persona for you.
See Yourself In Sound is a new campaign for audiophiles to interact with their favorite songs. By going onto the senses.bang-olufsen.com site, individuals can link their Spotify accounts and answer a questionnaire for the system to understand their music taste better.
Once complete, out will pop a virtual avatar whose face, body, and limbs are a visual representation of a person’s most treasure playlists.
“Music isn’t something we just listen to; it’s something we feel. It expresses who we are and who we connect with. The feeling of listening to music that you truly love can transport you to another world, and we wanted to visualize that world with See Yourself in Sound,” explains Creative Director Paul Collins. “Music is a universal language that everyone speaks, but music is also something completely unique to each listener and has always been a way to create your identity...The junction where community and connection meets individual expression and creativity is something we want to honor with this project.”
