Muggles who are still waiting to be enrolled at Hogwarts can now bring the castle a little closer to them (Accio!). LEGO has enchanted the haunting school to life with a new 2,660-piece replica.
A dramatic update to a 2018 set, the latter iteration emulates time-worn elements of the architecture, and this time animating it with Hogwarts’ grounds and the Black Lake on show.

The magical build recreates areas like the main tower, astronomy tower, Great Hall, and boathouse, in addition to courtyards, paths and bridges, greenhouses, and the rocky surroundings.

Potterheads may also live vicariously through the whirlwind academic life of minifigure-sized wizards by looking into the Chamber of Secrets, the winged key Room, potions classroom, and chessboard chamber. Giving credit where it is due, the toymaker has also added a little statue of the castle’s architect.

In the distance is the Whomping Willow, along with the Durmstrang Ship, Beauxbatons Carriage, and the Weasleys’ flying Ford Anglia car.

Considering all the details squeezed into the model, it’s surprising how the entire kit only measures 8.5 inches high and 13.5 inches wide—is it sorcery? Incredibly, the castle will sit nicely on your bookshelf, right next to your Harry Potter books.

You won’t be receiving a notice by Owl Post to let you know when the kit is here. Thankfully, you can pre-order it now on LEGO.com for US$169.99, ahead of its launch on September 1.
