Whether you’re feeling sublime or are simply “Kenough,” Mattel has a persona to match your personality. In addition to the wacky Weird Barbie doll, the toymaker has expanded its Barbie the Movie collection to bring the empowering icons from the film to your home.
In the movie, any changes seen on the residents of Barbie Land manifest in their doll versions in the real world. We’re getting a semblance of this experience with the newly-extended series, which unearths even more fashion-forward looks from Stereotypical Barbie and Beach Ken for display.

A new Ken doll steps onto the scene sporting an inline skating ensemble, evoking a retro charm with a sleeveless jacket, athletic shorts, and a matching visor—a look reminiscent of the movie’s skating scenes. On the Barbie side, she shines in the matching 80s-style neon leotard and electric pink biker shorts combo, topped off by neon green skate gear, drawing inspiration from Margot Robbie’s iconic on-screen skating attire.

Barbie enthusiasts are also treated to a scene-stealing ‘Pink Power’ jumpsuit ensemble. The bubblegum-hued jumpsuit is paired with chunky oversized sunglasses, a vibrant hair scarf, and chic white wedge sneakers.

And Ken is finally vying for the spotlight with his Mojo Dojo Casa House ensemble that includes a faux fur coat and a black fringe vest, stylishly enhanced with a black moto-fringe vest and a super sleek faux fur coat.

Patriarchal Ken had a fun moment, but it’s a good thing it didn’t last. Still, fans can hold onto the version of him that rocked the cowboy aesthetic. The western number is adorned with a white embroidered shirt, a cowboy hat, classic boots, and a black belt.

“To be honest, when I found out the patriarchy wasn’t about horses, I lost interest anyway.”
There are no pink Birkenstocks in sight.
Besides their skate shoes, the doll-sized Barbie and Ken could be imaginatively transported around via a new four-pack of 1:64 scale Barbie Corvettes. Each consists of Real Riders tires and a metal body and chassis, with a special appearance by a never-before-seen yellow corvette reliving Ken’s ride from the film.
Barbie the Movie has taken the world by storm, not only captivating audiences’ hearts with its feminist themes but also smashing through box office records, crossing the remarkable milestone of US$1 billion at the global box office. The blockbuster has also made history, with Greta Gerwig achieving a groundbreaking feat as the first solo female director to reach this achievement.
Ready to be snatched up, the Barbie the Movie collection is available for pre-sale at various retailers, including Amazon and Walmart, with prices ranging from US$25 to US$75.
