Being able to join a reality television competition requires the right connections and auditioning. Netflix is leveling the playing field by allowing anyone to immerse themselves in its latest dating experiment, Love is Blind. Or, rather, Netflix Stories: Love is Blind.
Ahead of the launch of the show’s fifth season, the streamer is welcoming fans to embark on their own romantic journeys in an interactive mobile game simulating the dating show, in which singles search for their other halves and get engaged before seeing their faces for the first time. The Love is Blind game was developed by the Netflix-owned Boss Fight Entertainment studio.

Players “tap into [their] main character energy” and first customize their appearance—evidently looking good for nobody other than themselves—before entering the pods and talking to their dates in hopes of finding emotional intimacy.

It’s not always rainbows and butterflies, as the road to romance is hardly a smooth one. “As any Love Is Blind fan knows, there are always some bumps along the road to the altar,” Netflix teases. Friends might turn their backs on you, and looks could end up being someone’s priority.

Love is Blind is just one of several films and shows that Netflix is hoping to spin into interactive narrative games under its Netflix Stories app. Others set to unfold into mobile devices include a sim game circling around the world of Money Heist, where “you’ll attempt to pull off the ultimate theft,” and one of Virgin River, where “you’ll settle into small-town life and love.”

Netflix Stories: Love Is Blind will make its way to the Apple App Store and Google Play on September 19, just before season five kicks off on September 22. Fans can also pre-register for a spot in the game here.
In the meantime, romantics at heart can now check out Choose Love, a unique choose-your-own-adventure rom-com that Netflix has just released.
