Netflix Takes A Gamble With ‘Squid Game’ Slot Machine
By Nicole Rodrigues, 10 Oct 2023
Netflix is now betting on a new kind of game. In a move as unpredictable as the show itself, the platform is making its casino debut with a slot machine inspired by its high-stakes South Korean survival series, Squid Game.
The Squid Game slot machine is poised to offer an immersive (and much less risky) gaming experience, drawing inspiration from the immensely popular drama series.
It will incorporate iconic games from the show, including Red Light, Green Light, Tug of War, and the Glass Tile, providing players with an opportunity to relive the suspense and excitement of the series.
The development of this slot machine falls under the purview of the gaming company Light & Wonder, formerly known as Scientific Games, which is a Las Vegas-based company with a reputation for producing and marketing both physical and digital games.

Players can anticipate substantial rewards, as the top prize for the Squid Game slot machine will range from US$200,000 to US$400,000, depending on the device’s configuration.
The slot machine will be housed in Light & Wonder’s Horizon large-screen jumbo cabinet, boasting a 75-inch screen and a 27-inch touch display.
That said, it’s set to make its casino debut sometime in 2024.
Netflix has been steadily turning Squid Game into a thriving franchise with games, real-life experiences, and even a reality show version of the series set to air in November.
