The Honda Aircraft Company has introduced its latest offering, the HondaJet Echelon, a new addition to the light jet industry that is set to bring comfort and performance to the skies.
This aircraft, derived from the 2600 Concept unveiled in 2021, is designed to strike a balance between comfort, performance, and efficiency.
With a rangeof2,625 nautical miles, this aircraft aims to offer transcontinental travel across the US.
It is a high-performing aircraft with a top speed of 450 knots and a flight ceiling of 47,000 feet. Additionally, it is environmentally friendly (or as eco-friendly as a private or business jets can be), emitting fewer carbon emissions than the average light jet.
Inside the cabin, the Echelon offers flexibility with three modular layouts: Executive, Dual Club, and Divan. These layouts cater to up to 11 passengers, ensuring a comfortable seating arrangement with ample legroom and storage, depending on the flyer’s needs.
In the cockpit, advanced flight technology and automation features, including auto throttle and auto brake, provide convenience and safety. Notably, the Echelon can be efficiently operated by a single pilot.
Manufacturing of the Echelon will take place at the Honda Aircraft Company’s North Carolina headquarters, with initial build processes slated to begin in 2024. The first flight is expected in 2026, and type certification is targeted for 2028.
