Domino’s Pizza is shoveling through the winter woes with a saucy solution for snow-covered streets. In an initiative that proves nothing—not even a blizzard—can halt the quest for hot pizza, the company is plowing through the cold so fans can indulge in a slice when the hunger pangs strike.
The pizza chain is dishing out half a million dollars in grants specifically earmarked for snow plowing. This endeavor, Plowing for Pizza, aims to keep the path to piping hot pizzas clear, even on the chilliest, snowiest days.
Domino’s is seeking nominations for up to 20 cities to receive US$25,000 each in snow plowing grants.
“At Domino’s we’ve made delivery cars with warming ovens built in, paved roads to get your pizza home hot and in perfect condition, and offered pizza insurance for when anything goes awry,” shares Joe Jordan, Domino’s president of US and global services. “To us, nothing should stand in the way of getting a delicious pizza, including snowy, cold weather,” he adds.
“So yes—you heard it right: a pizza company is actually helping to plow roads.”

The brand has already teamed up with three municipalities—Erie, Pennsylvania; Marquette, Michigan; and Manhattan, Montana—to support their snow-plowing efforts.

To toss their city’s name into the hat, customers can visit the dedicated Plowing for Pizza website and nominate their hometown using its zip code.
The 20 communities selected for the grant will not only receive funds for snow-clearing but also a special Domino’s-themed winter kit. This swag pack includes winter apparel, a snow measuring stick, vehicle magnets, and other items, along with US$200 in Domino’s gift cards for plow drivers.
The nomination window is open through January 21, 2024, with a one-submission-per-email-address rule, and selected towns will be announced by the company in a rolling fashion throughout the winter.
