First up, there’s the Studio Executive Barbie, complete with gold sunglasses and a cellphone, embodying the role of a studio executive in the film industry.
Ready to call the shots? Meet Director Barbie, armed with a film script, viewfinder, and headset, representing the power of a film director.
If you’ve ever dreamed of capturing the perfect shot, the Cinematographer Barbie is equipped with a camera and clapboard, shining a light on the role of a cinematographer in the world of movie-making.
And, of course, what’s a movie without its star? Movie Star Barbie is dressed to the nines in a glamorous gown and heels, clutching a golden statue. She even comes with a pearl necklace for that extra touch of elegance.
However, it’s not all smooth sailing for this new film project. Some critics have pointed out the absence of a Barbie representing screenwriters, a particularly poignant omission following the recent Writers Guild of America strike, which underscored the vital role of writers in the filmmaking process.
Nevertheless, the Women in Film Barbie collection is ready for its close-up and available for purchase online from the Mattel Shop, as well as through retailers like Amazon and Walmart. The crew of four dolls is priced at $50, offering a ticket to a world of imagination and possibility for little dreamers.
