Samsung is raising the bar in quality assurance and environmental consciousness with its latest announcement: the new Galaxy S24 series will enjoy an impressive seven years of Android and security updates! This commitment not only extends the life of these devices but also ensures that users can enjoy a consistently optimized performance for a longer period—no need to replace your phone every one or two years.
This means the Galaxy S24 series, which includes the S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra, is set to receive updates all the way up to Android 21. With this announcement, the South Korean tech giant is matching Google’s seven-year update promise for the Pixel 8 series.
Slated for release on January 31, 2024, the Samsung Galaxy S24 series is packed with features designed for the modern user. The standard S24 comes equipped with a 256GB storage capacity, a high-performance 50MP camera, and the latest processor for fast and efficient operation. The model also boasts a 4,000 mAh battery, or for the S24+, a 4,900 mAh one.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra model takes these features up a notch. It offers a 5,000 mAh battery, and a larger storage capacity of 512GB, catering to users with extensive data storage needs. The 50MP Zoom Camera in the Ultra model is a standout feature, likely offering advanced zoom and low-light performance. The inclusion of the S Pen with the Ultra model indicates a focus on productivity and creativity.
In terms of design and durability, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is the first Galaxy phone to feature a slim, titanium frame, adding to its longevity and also offering a more comfortable grip.

Throughout, sustainability is a key focus for the entire series. The devices incorporate recycled materials in their components, making them more eco-friendly. The Galaxy S24 features components made with recycled cobalt and rare earth elements. In the Galaxy S24 Ultra, a minimum of 50% recycled cobalt is used in the battery, and 100% upcycled rare earth materials are incorporated into the speakers.
The Galaxy S24 is also the first in the Galaxy S series to be crafted with recycled steel and Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU). The Galaxy S24 Ultra features a minimum of 40% recycled steel in the speakers and includes a minimum of 10% pre-consumer recycled TPU in the side and volume keys. Additionally, every Galaxy S24 comes in a packaging box made from 100% recycled paper material.
All these elements form the makings of a consumer-gadget relationship that may exceed many human ones.
