KFC is slicing into another foodie’s favorite—hint: it’s cheesy, has a crust, and is topped with pepperoni slices. Make no mistake—“it’s not pizza, it’s Chizza,” the fast-food chain proclaims.
Not exactly piping-hot on the innovation front, Chizza (pronounced “cheet-za”) is being introduced to US menus for the first time after making its debut in the Philippines in 2015 and becoming a global sensation in markets like Germany, India, Korea, Mexico, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, and Thailand since.
Combining the fast-food classics of fried chicken and pizza, the dish swaps out the bread for two 100% white meat Extra Crispy fried chicken, then piles on marinara sauce, melt-in-your-mouth mozzarella, and the satisfying crunch of pepperoni.

Before this dish hits KFC locations nationwide on February 26, however, New Yorkers get a special treat as the brand is converting its 242 E 14th St spot in New York City—America’s pizza capital—into a ‘Chizzeria’, where it will only serve Chizza.
The one-of-a-kind popup, opened by marketing communications agency MullenLowe, will offer locals a sneak peek (and taste) of the fusion menu item for free on February 23 to 24, before its official launch.
Available solo or as part of a combo with fries and a drink, the Chizza is making its entrance with a side of KFC’s Blackberry Lemonade, back by popular demand. In fried chicken, we crust.
