A photo of Keanu Reeves sitting on a park bench and eating alone had been circulating the internet, sparking a viral meme known as “Sad Keanu.” Now, “Sad Keanu” has made an appearance in a Ukrainian textbook on world history.
What looks like the iconic photograph of New York construction workers sitting and having lunch on a steel beam high above the ground in the 1930s can be found on page 58 of the text, under a section about the first and second world wars.
At the extreme right corner, the actual face of a “Sad Keanu” sits among the workers.
The textbook was written by Ihor Shchupak, a candidate of historical sciences, and it claims to educate the “fragments of historical documents, background and additional information, illustrative material, maps, questions, and tasks” to aid students' history lessons.
The photo depicting the doctored image has left internet users perplexed, but one user suggests that the authors might have erroneously published the meme version instead of the famous photo from decades ago.

In the Ukrainian book of world history found a sad Keanu Reeves. The authors accidentally published not a real photo of 1932, but the famous photo meme with the actor. pic.twitter.com/rifHeBSDTZ
