McDonald’s is known for its perpetually broken ice cream machines, and at long last, the fast food chain has found a way to combat the flaw.
Business Insider reported that the company is engaging software company Kytch to install a new device in the machinery, which will provide employees with important information and solutions on how to fix the equipment in the event of a malfunction.
The biggest problem with the ice cream machine is that it has to go through an extensive cleaning cycle that takes up to four hours long when it breaks down. Employees have claimed that they are often led to lie about the machines being “broken” because of this enduring process.
Thankfully, the new device will ensure that this cycle only happens when it is supposed to, as well as corrects any discrepancies caused by human error.
The upgrade can also anticipate when a part of a machine is about to be faulty through data it collects. With this information, it can warn employees of potential issues before the equipment even shuts down.
The device was first introduced in May 2019, and several restaurants have implemented it. A McDonald’s spokesperson said that the company is always working to “improve and enhance its restaurant experience” so customers can enjoy its meals without fuss.
In non-music-yet-just-as-important-news, #McDonalds is teaming up with a company called Kytch to impliment a new device to their ice cream machines that will prevent them from breaking! ABOUT TIME.
