Dribbble, the social network for online creatives, took a step back after 10 years to find that, after becoming home to a gamut of design trends, its interface had turned overwhelming and inconsistent. To accommodate more ideas to come, it has wholly redesigned the website to appear much cleaner.
The platform has now dialed back on the bloat, minimizing and polishing its layout while introducing more features that would be useful to designers and other creative professionals. New tweaks include a streamlined color scheme and a lighter codebase for quicker load times.
“Our new design system is made to showcase your creativity while maintaining visual harmony,” Dribbble explained in a new blog post. “It’s the perfect canvas to share your work and creativity, while a new, modernized aesthetic better reflects the company we are today.”
As a platform geared towards diverse creatives, Dribbble was presented with the additional challenge of allowing members to “properly showcase [their] work and personality in a whole new way.” It therefore had to “completely rethink” how profiles should be designed. The resulting facelift has “less noise, less clutter—more beautiful pixels,” the company detailed.
The most evident changes can be seen in the profiles for Dribbble Pro and Pro Business users, whose Shots are now customizable to size and more magnified, propelling their work to potential clients, recruiters, and those looking for inspiration. Members in these tiers can also personalize their header images and welcome text.

The About section for Pro and Pro Business subscribers has also been overhauled to pull all of their profile information together, including credentials, expanded bio, and skills.

Potential business partners can reach out to users in one click through a new messaging widget on Pro and Pro Business profile pages.

Users who haven’t upgraded will also enjoy a new minimal profile design that draws more attention to their work.

Those with a keen eye for design but aren’t in the industry can also have in on the fun with a new curator profile that lets them display their personal favorites.
In spite of the dramatic redesign, Dribbble said it is “not done yet,” and more changes are in the pipelines.
