Companies have taken their stance on the systemic racial injustice in the country, as well as shown support for the Black Lives Matter movement, in response to the death of George Floyd.
Toy maker LEGO, for one, has actively withdrawn adverts on play sets and toys with police-related themes.
In an email from Rakuten Linkshare on behalf of the LEGO Group, obtained by ToyBook, the company has requested affiliate marketers to remove product listings and features for over 30 LEGO building sets, accessories and figurines that represent police officers, firefighters, criminals, emergency vehicles and buildings, including the ‘Architecture Series’ version of the White House.
LEGO also announced on Twitter that it will donate US$4 million to “organizations dedicated to supporting Black children and educating all children about racial equality.”
