The imaginative young at heart will soon be able to rekindle one of their most joyous childhood activities yet. The LEGO Group has announced a collection of arty sets, designed specifically for pop culture-loving adults, to serve their need for creative fulfillment.
The new LEGO® Art series features four nostalgic sets created in collaboration with the Andy Warhol Foundation, The Beatles, Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm. Fans start out with a blank canvas and build their way to recreating Andy Warhol’s 1967 screenprint of Marilyn Monroe, portraits of The Beatles, an artwork of Iron Man in one of three suits of armor, as well as portraits of Star Wars villains, using 2D LEGO tiles.
To further divert your attention from adulting stresses, you can listen to accompanying bespoke soundtracks of interviews with professionals familiar with these pop culture icons. The relaxing anecdotes “dive deep into the inspiration behind each design to help adults fully immerse themselves in the building experience and unwind while they explore their love of music, art or film in a new way,” LEGO shared in a press statement.
Once you’re done with the therapeutic setup, you can display the stunning art in your room or office and look at it all day with a renewed sense of accomplishment.
The Marvel Studios Iron Man set will debut in LEGO retail stores and LEGO.com on 1 August, and the other three kits will be released in stores from 1 September in the US.
