This year has been pretty eventful, to say the least, and that is why Billie Eilish wants you to write a letter to your future self to reflect upon 2020 much later down the road.
The singer has collaborated with Spotify to release a microsite called A Letter to Your Future Self. The website was launched on the heels of her latest song, My Future.
Much like her track, which explores her optimism for the future, Eilish hopes to inspire her fans to write hopeful messages on the website, so they can read it later on.
The website features the animated version of Eilish, from the single’s Studio Ghibli-inspired music video, looking up in the night sky. The opening sentence reads, “Dear future me,” allowing fans to type out their messages. They can then select a future date to send the letter on.
Once the message has been sent, it sets off a spark to the sky. Another sentence then appears stating, “I’ll see you in a couple years.” Try it for yourself here.
Billie’s new single “my future” is about being hopeful.
