The world’s first-ever floating Apple store is set to open at Singapore’s waterfront, known as Marina Bay Sands.
The infrastructure has been built to float on the water along by the luxurious Marina Bay Sands hotel and mall. The Apple store, which appears as a futuristic orb, will be lit up during the night against Singapore’s iconic skyline.
9to5Mac attained the promotional kit for the store, which describes the architecture’s the ability to glow “with a gentle warmth, evoking the design of traditional lanterns carried during Singapore’s Mid-Autumn Festival.”
During the daytime, the sphere will reflect the rippling water beneath and the Downtown skyline via glass panels fixed on its exterior.
There isn’t a fixed date on the store’s launch but it will ensure Singapore’s COVID-19 safety measures once it is open to the public.
Apple also released a teaser video for the outlet’s opening, which includes vibrant graphics depicting the appearance of light lines on the sphere at night. Take a look at it below.
