Naomi Osaka is officially a two-time US open women’s singles champion. Now, the 22-year-old tennis star can put fashion design in her list of achievements.
The collection draws upon Osaka’s Japanese-Haitian heritage, including beautiful draped dresses and knitwear inspired by Harajuku.
The Tokyo shirt dress, which is also part of the lineup, boasts exaggerated puffed sleeves with corseted seams in the bust area. The Naomi top has a cinched waist with asymmetrical drapes and lace. The Osaka top and Osaka cardigan have feminine ruffles while keeping you warm at the same.
It is reported that Osaka reached out to the brand’s designer, Hanako Maeda, to ask if she would be interested in collaborating. They hit it off pretty well and began creating ideas and sketches at their first meeting.
