A designer has revealed how selling icons for iOS 14 has earned him a profit of over US$100,000 within a week.
If customizing your home screen is a daunting task for you, designer Traf has shared a set of minimalist icons and widget shortcuts that has proven to be a favorite between monochrome lovers and has since gone viral on Twitter.
In a blog post, he shared his experience and advice to anyone who wished to create this aesthetic. After noticing that his work gained traction, Traf immediately designed a set of icons in his style and uploaded them for sale.
He managed to sell his icons to 4,000 individuals, amounting to US$116,157.
If you wish to get your hands on these graphics, they’re available at his icon page for US$28. The set includes 120 custom shortcuts covering Slack to Twitter. Currently, four colors are available—black, slate, and white. Traf promises that the set will be constantly updated with new icons.
Traf credited his success to the culmination of skills he picked up over nearly a decade. He made US$17 in 2013 when jailbreaking was a trend at that time. Through this process, he learnt the value of putting in effort into creating something and selling at a reasonable price.
They're coming along. Send me your icon suggestions! pic.twitter.com/kgbWyVSbta
