Google has released a new set of augmented-reality Art filters to its Arts & Culture app, so you can turn yourself into more masterpieces.
The new filters allow users to transform their selfies into famous paintings, or let them try on historical artifacts. Three of the options emulate the styles of Van Gogh’s 1889 Self-Portrait, Frida Kahlo’s Self-Portrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird, as well as Johannes Vermeer’sGirl with a Pearl Earring.
The other two filters let users try on a 19th-century Samurai Helmet and an Egyptian faience necklace from the 14th century.
The app also provides the history and context behind the artworks and antique objects to educate users before trying them.
To get started, you will need to download or update Google’s free Arts & Culture app on iOS or Android. Then, simply tap on the camera icon at the bottom of the main page to view the filters.
