Tensions are high behind device screens during this stay-home period, but in the best way possible. The latest quarantine game to leave people on the edge of their seats is Among Us, an online multiplayer that has friends suspecting each other of being impostors.
The game, placed in a space setting, sees a group of avatars in astronaut-like suits. Most of them are tasked as regular crewmates, while a select few are impostors with a mission to kill the rest.
The characters adopt a simple bean-like illustrated look, but it appears that they could have been star-shaped instead, according to early sketches recently released by Puff, one of the game’s creators. Whether or not the characters’ arms were envisioned to be permanently fixed sideways remains to be clear.
In one iteration, the crewmates were conceptualized with tiny circular bodies, reminiscent of Mike Wazowski from Monsters, Inc.
As compared to most character design work out there, coming up with the look for the crewmates took almost no time at all. You could say it was almost a little sus.
“This is literally the only concept art of coming up with the crewmate design. We settled pretty fast,” Puff tweeted.
