Samsung wasted little time to ridicule Apple after the Cupertino tech giant launched the iPhone 12 lineup and let on that the new smartphones would be packaged without an adapter nor EarBuds. Weirdly enough, it could be eating its own words pretty soon, if a new speculation turns out to be true.
According to South Korean news reports, via SamMobile, Samsung is also considering excluding the chargers and earphones from the boxes for the upcoming ‘Galaxy S21’ and even the entire lineup.
Some sources, on the other hand, believe that only the audio gadgets will be taken out of the packaging.
A number of jaded Samsung users have already expected this move. After all, Samsung also took a swipe at Apple for ditching the headphone jack, and then did the same afterwards. Those adverts have since been deleted.
Apple cited environmental reasons for the abandonment of the accessories, which always came shipped with its devices; with flatter packaging, it will be able to carry more iPhones per shipment. The company also maintained that since users are likely to already own an iPhone adapter and EarPods, there wouldn’t be a need to get another set.
