Elusive street artist Banksy has confirmed to have been behind a witty coronavirus-themed mural that appeared on a house in Bristol this week.
The artwork, entitled Aachoo!!, is plastered on the side of a semidetached house in Totterdown. It features a woman in a headscarf, sneezing while holding onto a handkerchief and dropping her walking stick and handbag behind her. Her dentures even seem to pop out as she coughs.
The location chosen for the graffiti work is interesting, as it is placed along England’s steepest residential street, which has a 22-degree slope. This gives off the appearance of the woman sneezing toward the uphill direction of the slope.
Banksy posted several photos of the artwork, including one of a man with an umbrella being blown away by the lady’s sneeze. A trashcan was also cheekily toppled over on the street for dramatic effect.
