Forget the hassle of downloading a Microsoft Office file in an email in order to edit it. Gmail now lets you make amendments to Office attachments directly in an email without leaving your inbox.
Previously, users were required to open the documents in Google’s Workspace Suite before making changes. They can now easily easily edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint files without leaving their current tab.
To get to work, simply click on the new ‘edit’ button found beside the email attachment, and then make your edits and save the file.
The document will retain its original file format and display changes as soon as they are made. So, bid farewell to the inconvenience and time spent on downloading, editing, and then sending the revised versions on Gmail.
The update will be rolled out within the next two weeks. To learn more about the new function, visit Google’s support page right here.
