Japanese candy maker HEART has created a decorative bonsai tree that happens to be edible too.
The playful kit, called Okashi de Tsukuru (Making a Bonsai Out of Candy), allows you to grow your own chocolate bonsai tree, groom it, and then eat it after. Each set is packed with three molding trays, chocolate candies, leaf powder and a pot to put your tree in.
All you need to do is mold the candy into the tray to let it chill in the freezer to create the base trunk of the tree. For the leaves, simply mix the leaf powder with water and microwave it for 50 seconds.
The result is a beautiful tuff of foliage that you apply on the tree in whatever artistic distribution you desire.
The Okashi de Tsukuru Bonsai is priced at ¥350 (US$3.40), and you can purchase it here.
In related news, LEGO has just unveiled bouquet and bonsai kits you can mindfully build, whether or not you have green thumbs.
