A mind-bending 3D billboard advertisement of a lion in the city of Chengdu has caused quite an uproar not only in China, but around the world too.
The attention-stealing stunt, showcased on Christmas day, started out as a regular text display detailing an upcoming piece of property, but it began to “glitch,” and was seemingly torn apart to reveal a lion had been hiding underneath all along.
The ferocious beast was seen romping about and leering at the world outside its cage before taking a rest—but not for long, for its surrounding glass had started to shatter, presenting an opportunity for the big cat to jump out.
The advertisement was presented by real estate developer T.I Mansion to promote its new property in the Taikoo Li mixed-development complex.
The effect was so compelling, at least one video showed that the 3D animation had astonished onlookers.
“That’s epic,” one Redditor commented. “But if I was driving past when it jumped I’d probably crash.”
