With all the recent hype, it shouldn’t be a surprise that streetwear brands are throwing their hats in the non-fungible token (NFT) ring too. Street label BAPE, alongside sister brand AAPE, has announced that it is launching five limited-edition NFTs in partnership with Asian art collective Cross Studio.
According to Input, the brand partnered with Tirith Capital to work on the digital project. Tirith Capital founder, Jimmie Jeremejev, said that the brand’s foray into NFTs was a logical next step.
“Considering that BAPE has collaborated with partners such as Marvel, SpongeBob, and Nintendo, the potential for future digital art NFT collaborations is enormous,” added Jeremejev in a press release, as per Input.
Starting Friday, April 30, five NFT digital artworks will be up for sale on Mintable. The five designs include three classic BAPE ABC camo patterns, as well as two special designs AAPE collaborated on with artists Lilkool and Eric Inkala.
Each of the AAPE artworks will have 5,000 units available for sale. The blue and pink BAPE ABC camo patterns are a lot more limited, with only 250 units available. The most exclusive design of the bunch will be BAPE’s signature ABC camo print in green, available in just 150 units.
If you’re thinking of getting your hands on these exclusive NFTs, remember to set your clocks – these are bound to go fast.
