As they say, Google knows everything about you, and this includes the stuff you might need. To save you the search, the internet behemoth has just launched a ‘Best Things for Everything’ site revealing the current top 1,000 products around the web.
Google says it started the site to give users more confidence in shopping for their needs. You can explore its entire master list, or sort the items into categories namely: Home & Office; Games, Arts & Crafts; Health & Beauty; Electronics; Sports & Fitness; Outdoors & On The Road; Pets; and Babies & Toddlers.
The details as to how Google identifies top products are a little fuzzy, and it mentions that it “broadly” observes “how products are discussed online.”
“Products are included based on several factors, including, but not limited to, what’s popular and what’s being searched on Google,” the company adds. “All of those factors help inform a view of the top products across these categories.”
The site’s designers note that the list is refreshed with new data every 24 hours, primarily because prices and imagery can vary on a daily basis.
