A vast reserve of artworks, including collections from over 40 international institutions, are now available to download via new art search engine Artvee. These high-resolution images feature pieces from famed archives such as the New York Public Library and Paris Musées.
In the recent years, art institutions have begun digitizing their archives. Now, the issue isn’t with the lack of digitized works, but how to navigate all these extensive collections. Artvee, a new search engine, hopes to tackle this mounting problem.
According to Open Culture, the search engine allows users to filter by categories of works, such as abstract art, landscape, illustrations, still life, and more.
You’ll also be able to search by artist, should you find yourself searching for a specific work by Rembrandt, Monet, Raphael, or other artists.
Artvee also offers insight into specially curated collections, such as “illustrations from fairy tales” or “covers of popular songs,” allowing users a convenient way to find unique images they might need.
The best part? All the artworks available on are in the public domain or distributed under a Creative Commons license, meaning users can use these works freely for personal and commercial projects with no attribution required. They are also all downloadable in high-resolution, for your own curation and collection.
Take a look through the new search engine Artvee.
