Just above Shinjuku Station, one of the busiest train stations in the world, a gigantic 3D calico cat has moved in to meow over the bustling city district, making eye contact with amazed passersby.
A new advertising space, the Cross Shinjuku Vision, boasts a screen of 1,665-square-feet with 4K image quality and robust speakers. In conjunction with Microad Digital Signage and real estate advertising space provider Yunika, the company has developed a visual of a giant animated cat to showcase its new curved LED digital signage, creating the hyperrealistic 3D illusion.
The new resident cat will appear periodically during other scheduled advertisements after it wakes at 7am, then fall asleep just before the signage is scheduled to turn off at 1am.

This 3D advertising has already caught waves of attention in China and South Korea, which is a fantastic sign for potential customers looking to make their advertisements stand out among the already-crowded neon advertising spaces in Tokyo’s populous central streets.
In a section of its website simply titled ‘Cat?’, Cross Shinjuku Vision reveals that the cat will make its grand debut on July 12. To ensure that a global audience can delight in this newfound feline friend, Cross Space has also set up a livestream of the cat’s digital residence on its YouTube channel.
