Kraft, famed for its Macaroni & Cheese, has just teamed up with Brooklyn-based Van Leeuwen Ice Cream to create a macaroni-and-cheese-flavored ice cream in honor of National Macaroni & Cheese Day this week.
While you may be a diehard fan of Kraft’s comfort food, would you be game enough for the ice cream version?
As per Today, those wanting a taste test before committing to a pint can try the flavor for free on July 14 between 11am to 6pm at Union Square, New York. If you’re located elsewhere, just head down to your local Van Leeuwen store for a US$12 pint.
“We know that there is nothing more refreshing on a hot summer day than ice cream. That is why we wanted to combine two of the most iconic comfort foods to create an ice cream with the unforgettable flavor of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese we all grew up with,” said Emily Violett, Senior Associate Brand Manager at Kraft Macaroni & Cheese.
Kraft said it decided to partner up with Van Leeuwen due to its artisanal ice cream selection that’s created with just a few choice ingredients.
“As big fans of Van Leeuwen, we knew they’d be the perfect partner to create this ice cream with us. Not only does it taste delicious, but it’s also made with high-quality ingredients and contains no artificial flavors, preservatives, or dyes just like our Kraft Macaroni & Cheese,” Violett explained.
Well, what are you waiting for? Sink your teeth into this strange sweet-and-savory flavor to chase away the heat of summer.
