A new multipurpose real estate project is hoping to establish itself in Toronto, Canada, targeting younger inhabitants through a wide selection of amenities encased in sleek, modern design.
The Verge development was designed by architects at Turner Fleischer, and interiors were done by DesignAgency, while developer RioCan Living helms the project. It’s located at the intersection of Islington Avenue and The Queensway, a well-connected and highly convenient area, and hopes to “revolutionize condominium living in Etobicoke.”
The development consists of two mixed-use buildings, 17- and 11-stories respectively, and will have some 545 residential units across both. Apart from this, it boasts more than 30,000sqft of retail space, with a new public park and service road to come alongside it.
But arguably the most interesting thing about this development is the prominence of its amenities. The list is summed up neatly by DesignAgency: “fitness center, yoga/meditation studio, pet spa, party room, cocktail lounge and an expansive outdoor terrace with barbecues, chess and shuffleboard games and an outdoor lounge offering south-facing views.”
As for work-related spaces, there is a co-working space, an audio-recording studio for podcasts and similar material, and a video-recording studio geared towards creating content for TikTok and other social media.
Since work-from-home culture has become more engrained into our daily lives, spaces like these provide a respite if the home environment gets too stagnant. In addition, the recording studios offer their users equipment, background, and tools that might not be otherwise easily accessible.
Verge should be ready for occupancy in Q1 2025, should everything proceed smoothly, RENX reports. Who knows what other TikTok-esque video-based social media we’ll have migrated to as a society then?
