Running late for work? That doesn’t seem to be too much of an issue in this age, what with meetings being held at home and “attending” them being possible with stand-in clones (we won’t tell). Now, you can sleep in even later with this bed that transforms into a living room or desk.
While it’s not encouraged to work where you sleep, the fascinating ‘Cloud Bed’ by MIT-based Brooklyn startup Ori Design Studio turns your bedroom into a wholly different environment by hiding your bed in the ceiling and dropping a living room area or table from the “skies,” hence its name.
By day, the setup can be outfitted with a 66-inch long table and three built-in outlets to support work from home.
And when you’re ready to turn in—or sneak a little nap—the Cloud Bed transitions into a rest area with ample space for a king or queen bed, as well as shelves and storage in the headboard. The entire transformation is silent, takes just 42 seconds, and is oh-so-satisfying to watch.
The Cloud Bed serves as a space-saving solution for tiny homes, effectively creating two rooms in one. Not to mention, it gives an excuse not to make your bed. Out of sight, out of mind, right?
