With summer heat reaching new peaks like never before, we’re in search of new ways to beat the heat. This is the inspiration behind Mintie, a product by design firm Grant Barnett & umbrella manufacturer Artfarm’s new company, A.Brolly.
Mintie is a set of innovative yoga leggings made with peppermint-infused fabric. The company claims that wearing the breathable, fresh fabric doesn’t feel like anything, and reduces up to 7ºC (44.6ºF) while shaping the wearer’s body. Simple and versatile, it can be worn anywhere from the gym to the studio to just enjoying a long summer’s day at home.
The company’s patented fabric is called ‘FrostTech’ and integrates food-grade Xylitol, the same ingredient found in chewing gum, to create a moisture-wicking, highly breathable fabric. The Xylitol is integrated into the yarn used, ensuring that every inch of the skin feels the refreshing coolness that is triggered with moisture.

Just like how eating a mint makes your entire mouth feel fresh when combined with saliva, the leggings help your legs feel the same freshness when combined with sweat.
Plus, the fabric blocks UV to reduce skin damage. Made with a Spandex base, the leggings allow for a four-way stretch and comes with pockets, too.
As of right now, they come in three colors: charcoal, bronze blue, and pale mauve.

The project is still on Kickstarter mode, with more than a month left before its goal deadline. At £15,000 (US$20,800), a Mintie sports bra with similar functions will be unlocked, completing the set for you to breeze through a workout with.
