Netflix’s La Casa de Papel, or Money Heist, is undoubtedly one of its most beloved shows globally. It’s so popular, it even has its own behind-the-scenes documentary and a reboot on the way—on Netflix.
Naturally, all this fame means that the series has amassed legions of fans who wouldn’t think twice before spilling spoilers online. So to keep viewers’ thumbs from moving, the streaming giant held them behind locked doors—not with handcuffs, but by placing them on a plane as part of a No-Spoiler Heist, masterminded with the help of advertising agency Publicis Italy.
100 unsuspecting fans were invited for an exclusive screening of the much-anticipated first volume of part five, and were told that they’d be flown to Madrid the morning of the official release. Only thing, they weren’t about to land anywhere.

Over the PA system, the Professor divulged his secret plans to passengers: that they were chosen because they were the “worst spoiler makers” of Italy. To ensure they wouldn’t ruin the show, the screening would take place in the air, where they couldn’t contact anyone on the outside.
Sound familiar? Yep, they were held hostage.
The 100 passengers remained in the plane for five hours, through the entire duration of the five episodes. “Five hours that allowed millions of fans on the ground to view the series finally free of spoilers while remaining an unforgettable experience for those who were on board,” describes Publicis Italy.
