With its latest spot, it’s clear how IKEA pictures itself in the lives of customers: as big, burly teddy bears with the strength to assemble your furniture and the warmth of a plush toy.
Produced by advertising agency Mother London for IKEA UK, the whimsical film sees cuddly yet brawny bouncers doing the manual labor of protecting a house and helping out with chores so a father and daughter can spend quality time together.
“Everyone deserves a home where they feel safe, happy, and ready for anything, and we’re here to make sure nothing gets in the way,” IKEA UK details. “Whether that’s work invading the space where you play or everyday stresses and strains. Because no matter who you are or where you live, every home should be a haven.”
You might not be able to recruit the bears via TaskRabbit, but IKEA says its home solutions are designed to help you build a more comfortable living space for overcoming life’s stresses.
“While there are all kinds of everyday stresses and strains that can prevent the home from being the haven it should be, we’re committed to helping our customers overcome these challenges where we can, with our new campaign calling for everyone to create the space they deserve, and a home life they love,” explains IKEA marketing communications manager Kemi Anthony.
