Japanese startup Icoma has developed a concept for a sleek electric motorbike that, when finished with, can be folded up into an unobstructive form for easy storage.
And yes, this includes under the desk, where the electric vehicle can be charged. It’s almost reminiscent of a set of small IKEA drawers or a PC tower.

When folded, the bike measures around 27.6 by 26.8 by 10.2 inches. The front wheel, a set of fold-down wheels, and a hinged handle make it easy to drag around like a suitcase, too, so there’s no need to unfold the vehicle if it needs to be moved. You could probably take it with you in the elevator as well.
The ‘Tatamel’, as it is called, has a top speed of 25 miles per hour, with a maximum range of around 31 miles, powered by a 600-watt motor and a 12-Ah battery. The bike also includes front and rear suspensions and a full LED-lighting system. From its battery, other devices will also be able to be charged.

Its side panels are also interesting as they’re highly customizable. Although the photos of the prototype show a plain wooden panel on either side, these can be swapped out for personalized ones or even advertising boards.
For now, this is still a prototype, although the Tatamel has been featured out and about on the company’s Twitter account.
The good news is that Icoma is planning to bring these innovative bikes into production soon, but the bad news is that there is no release date confirmed as of the time of writing, and pricing is still also largely a question mark.

There is, however, a 1:12 scale model of it in existence. This should tide us over while we await further news on the Tatamel.
