An exhibition hosted at the Belnord, New York City, has some striking similarities to the concept of soup in an edible bread bowl. Much like drinking the soup then eating the bread after, everything in this design exhibition is up for sale, including the apartment that it’s being hosted in.
Residence 1005 of the Belnord was designed by Guillaume Coutheillas, founder of interior design and branding studio frenchCALIFORNIA; and Evan Snyderman, founder of contemporary design gallery R & Company.
Set out just like one may expect a luxurious city residence to be, everything from the furnishings to the accessories and art pieces has its own price tag.
This by-appointment-only exhibition spans a three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom apartment, which was just listed for US$6.475 million, and includes pieces from R & Company. The collection includes some acclaimed names such as Nancy Lorenz, Pierre Yovanovitch, the Haas Brothers, and Sergio Rodrigues.
It also boasts its very own paint color, developed with Color Atelier. Suitably named Belnord White, it’ll be exclusively available to residents of the Belnord.

“It was an exciting task to create a space that nods to the classic architecture and exteriors of the landmarked Belnord building while also appealing to a modern-day buyer or collector,” Coutheillas tells House Beautiful. This was achieved, he explains, through “electing contemporary pieces and colorful works to fill the residence and create a more approaching environment.”

The Belnord is located on Broadway, bordered by West 86th and 87th Streets. It recently underwent restoration by Robert A. M. Stern Architects, and was featured as the Arconia in Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building.
