This week, world leaders flew to Glasgow, Scotland, to attend the United Nations’ COP26 summit and discuss solutions for the dire climate crisis. According to the UN, humans are self-sabotaging themselves into extinction by encouraging fossil-fuel activities.
Take it from someone who has had experience with extinction. In a new campaign by creative company Activista for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), a dinosaur is shown entering the UN General Assembly Hall to warn diplomats about where they’re driving Earth into.
“At least we had an asteroid,” declares Frankie the CGI dinosaur (voiced by Jack Black). “What’s your excuse?”
The UN describes that it hopes to raise awareness about how the constant implementation of fossil fuel subsidies is “canceling out significant progress towards ending climate change and… driving inequality by benefiting the rich” in the Don’t Choose Extinction initiative.
Created to reach decision-makers and climate activists of the world, the film has been translated into multiple languages, and voiced by global celebrities, including Spanish, Danish, and French.
