As December inches closer towards us, so do the holiday campaigns. Apple has just shared its annual festive advertisements to wrap the year up with.
This comes in the form of a heartwarming short titled Saving Simon, filmed entirely on an iPhone 13 Pro, taking the firm’s signature Shot on iPhone campaign to a whole cozy level.
The advertisement starts out with a boy on a mission to kick over almost all the snowmen in front of his family home. But before he can get to the last one, his sister stops him just in time and saves the snowman.

This salvaged friend lives in the family’s freezer for the whole year, ensuring his safety and longevity that many of his peers aren’t blessed with, unfortunately. The next winter, the sister places him back on the front lawn, and the short concludes with a cozy moment with the family all together.
“To the ones we’ve waited all year to be with,” the concise, minimal text reads at the end. “Happy Holidays.”

Set to the song You and I by Valerie June, the video is “a story for everyone who can’t wait for the holidays to get here,” and is dedicated to “the ones we’ve waited all year to be with.” It was directed by the father-son duo Jason and Ivan Reitman, who were also the names behind Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
Another heartstrings-pulling holiday advertisement was released by McDonald’s earlier in the month, its bittersweet sentimentality causing a flood of tears on social media and users “warning” others about it.
