While this era has been likened to the Roaring Twenties and even plague-stricken times, we have it a lot luckier than generations before. Sure, being on lockdown isn’t the most pleasant experience, but the past year or so has seen designers find solutions to new yet prevalent problems, if not just to keep people occupied in a meaningful way.
Once again, Apple is commending app developers and has rounded up its favorite apps and games of the year based on innovation, design, user experience, and their potential impact on people’s lives. “Some help us learn, others enhance our work… It’s our honor to celebrate this year’s winners,” the tech giant says.
The company has also highlighted the apps “that brought us together” while everyone stayed indoors, bored and sometimes overwhelmed. These include multiplayer quarantine hit game Among Us!, design tool Canva, women’s health friendship and support app Peanut, dating and networking platform Bumble, and Black-owned business discovery app EatOkra.
Take a look at a handful of the award-winning App Store apps to make your devices more interesting to use, and check out the full list, which includes Apple’s Games of the Year, here.
