Pringles Taps Hello Kitty To Front Adorable Mustachioed Lifestyle Collection
By Alexa Heah, 31 Jan 2022
Hello Kitty, one of Japan’s most famous exports who’s appeared on everything from McDonald’s merchandise to soap dispensers, has teamed up with Pringles for an adorable collection.
Alongside Kitty will be fellow Sanrio pup, Cinnamoroll, with both characters donning the iconic handlebar mustache of the snack brand’s mascot, Julius Pringles, or Mr P.
According to Japan Today, Hello Kitty will head the red team, representing Pringles’ Umashio (“tasty salt”) flavor, while Cinnamoroll will appear in green for fan-favorite Sour Cream and Onion.
The sets feature either a Hello Kitty or Cinnamoroll plushie and what looks like a can of Pringles, but has been revealed to actually contain candy.
Each doll comes with its very own removable mustache, so you can dress it up as Mr P, though, as SoraNews 24 notes, it does make the duo resemble Mario and Luigi.
The Candy and Mascot sets will retail at 1,980 yen (US$17) each, while the Sticker Sets will go for 495 yen (US$4).
Additional items in the collection include Pen Stands (1,210 yen / US$10), Drawstring Bags (880 yen, US$7), Pouches of Candy (1,650 yen / US$14), Eco Bags (1,870 yen / US$16), Mini Tote Bags with Candy (1,980 yen / US$18), and Petit Towels (792 yen / US$7).
The Hello Kitty and Cinnamoroll Pringles Collection will be available from February 3 at Sanrio stores in-person and online, as well as in selected department stores.
