Apple Already Producing iPhone 14 Pros In Small Batch To Finalize Design: Report

The upcoming iPhone 14 Pro is purportedly beginning its move into the production stage, with Apple’s supply chain beginning a trial run of manufacturing.
A report from the Taiwan Economic Times suggests that the device has entered OEM trial production, which is typically when it gets produced on a small scale. This is so that the design can undergo final tweaks, if needed, and for the final green light before it enters mass production and hits the market.
AppleInsider reports that the firm usually carries out this process in mid-to-late February, and Luxshare, the firm’s usual assembly partner, also gets involved.
However, it was also noted that this time around, Luxshare wasn’t provided with the production service order, hinting that there may have been a change. It is currently being speculated that it will be involved in the standard iPhone 14’s production, but perhaps not with the iPhone 14 Pro.
Instead, it appears that Foxconn, another Apple supplier, has taken on the task of the latter, and Luxshare will be focusing on the lower-end models of the iPhone 14. These are yet to enter the OEM stage.
Its design hasn’t been revealed yet, but there has been speculation about its changes so far. Most notably, the upcoming device is said to remove the notch entirely and replace the front camera with a pill-shaped cutout.
MacRumors also details a tribute to the classic designs of the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5, with circular volume buttons and a thicker overall chassis.
