If listening to Disneyland tunes is part of your routine to keep you upbeat at work, Disney’s new playlist might be the wish your heart makes. The company has released a lineup of lo-fi remixes of classics to help you find not just focus but also the Happiest Place on Earth.
The album, clearly inspired by the wildly popular Lofi hip hop mix - Beats to Relax/Study to playlist on the ChilledCow YouTube channel, even has cover artwork showing Minnie Mouse at her desk, looking pensively at her notes with her hand to her chin—a visual reminiscent of the famous ‘Lo-Fi Study Girl’.
The playlist, entitled Lofi Minnie: Focus, features 10 chill remixes of beloved songs from The Lion King, Frozen, The Little Mermaid, Moana, and more. Disney roped in “top artists in the Lofi space” to turn “some of Minnie’s favorite songs” into these tracks, which it says are ideal for studying, working, creating, and relaxing.
In a statement, Disney called the unexpected interloping of the genre and its nostalgic brand “a natural fit.”
“Disney and Minnie Mouse are a natural fit with lofi, especially with Minnie’s interests in creativity, music, and wellness leaning into lofi’s ties to for self-expression and its calming meditative properties,” says the company’s senior manager franchise marketing Tim Pennoyer, according to We Got This Covered.
Lofi Minnie: Focus is now streamable on major platforms, including Spotify and YouTube.
