Nearly three years after teasing the collection, IKEA and the World Surf League are finally floating an array of sustainable, surf-inspired furniture and home products to stores worldwide. KÅSEBERGA, named after an oceanfront village in Sweden, features lifestyle and home products that embody a calling for the ocean, down to the marine-friendly materials that make up its pieces.
The range’s 25-odd pieces breathe life into recycled polyester from coastlines and renewable materials like bamboo and cork. The ocean’s influence swirls into them: There’s a plywood hand plane for bodysurfing, as well as a cork balance board. In an appreciation for Mother Nature, there is also a tote bag constructed from ocean-bound plastic—that is, plastic on the brink of entering oceans—to be used for beach cleanups.

For lovers of nautical aesthetics, the KÅSEBERGA coffee table has a bamboo top that takes the form of a surfboard, while its metal legs are shaped like fins.

Other standout pieces include a vibrant take on the blue FRAKTA bags, a portable grill, a beach chair, and a rug (pictured above) that is crafted from plastic waste.
