Tropicana Releases Special Cereal Meant For Pairing With Orange Juice, Not Milk
By Alexa Heah, 27 Apr 2022
Last year, Tropicana introduced a toothpaste that didn’t ruin the taste of orange juice. Now, the brand is back with a new offering: a special cereal that’s meant to be eaten with OJ instead of milk.
If that sounds strange, we don’t blame you. Most of us are used to savoring a bowl of cereal with a creamy milk base, although as per Thrillist, the company claims 15 million people have tried the odd combination of cereal and orange juice before.
The new Tropicana Crunch cereal will be available for free on National Orange Juice Day (May 4), and comprises honey almond clusters that are “made to be spooned and sipped” and “drowned in OJ.”
A spokesperson told Food & Wine that the company specifically chose a granola-based cereal as it is better able to withstand the acidity in orange juice, and would be less soggy than regular flakes. And with a paper sipping straw provided, you’ll be able to slurp up any leftovers.
While we’re very much undecided on the combination, as Tropicana put it: “Whether you hate it or love it, you won’t know until you try it.”
