Louis Vuitton To Open A Beach-Style Restaurant With Fusion Cuisine At St Tropez
By Nicole Rodrigues, 08 Jun 2022
If you find yourself hungry in St Tropez this summer, Louis Vuitton is here to save the day. The luxury goods brand is delving further into fine dining with the launch of its newest restaurant, Mory Sacko at Louis Vuitton, on June 17.
Prodigious chef Mory Sacko is leading the project and is the namesake of the restaurant. As a new and emerging chef on Paris’ cuisine scene, Mory Sacko has been making waves in the restaurant world. He’s the head chef of Michelin-star restaurant MoSuke in Paris and had his shot to fame thanks to France’s edition of Top Chef.
Sacko intends to bring his love of fusion cuisine to the new restaurant where the menu would host a marriage of African, French, and Japanese food. The menu is vegetarian-inclined and is also inspired by the famous Japanese ekiben lunch box sets often found in train stations.
As WWD reports, the interior will feature ship-deck wooden flooring, rattan furniture, and hanging lamps, with a wall dotted with Louis Vuitton monograms.
Sacko also contributed to the design and interior of the restaurant, which will be al fresco and seat 40 guests. The restaurant is located at the White 1921 Hotel on Place des Lices.
Mory Sacko at Louis Vuitton will be the latest of the fashion house’s experimentations with the food scene, following Le Café V in Osaka and LV Café and Chocolate Shop in Tokyo, as well as a popup restaurant in Seoul’s Gangnam district.
