Zuckerberg Swaps Gray Tee For Prada To Tout Virtual Fashion Store In Metaverse

High fashion and luxury are coming to the metaverse in the form of a clothing store that users can buy the latest clothes from for real money for their online avatars to wear.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg made the announcement, by imagining himself in different styles from the likes of Thom Browne and Prada, detailing the company’s plans to launch these new stores on Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger.
For those who’s not yet persuaded of the idea of splurging on Balenciaga on your virtual double before your actual self, a free wardrobe will be available, according to TechCrunch.
The digital store is the first step in Meta’s plans to roll out fashion to its metaverse users, with further plans to let creators upload designs, and allowing users the freedom to express themselves—the same way as they would in the real world—through personal style.
As Meta pushes on with its campaign to convince us all into migrating to the metaverse, expect more dress-up fun coming your way in the alternate realm.
