YEEZY Gap Brings Dumpster-Diving To Parking Lots In US Cities

Grace is not a virtue for anyone hoping to nab a piece from the long-awaited YEEZY Gap label co-designed by Balenciaga. Instead, Kanye West is making fans prove their devotion by having them dive into dumpsters.
After opening the YEEZY Gap store in Times Square, YEEZY Gap made its way across the US on July 23 to bring its wares to customers in Miami, Chicago, and Los Angeles. In scenes not unlike those in Squid Game, hooded, faceless figures lugged piles of clothing into parking lots, before forcing participants to rummage for a piece.
As reported by Dezeen, one of the venues for this unprecedented stunt was the multi-story parking space on 1111 Lincoln Road in Miami Beach, designed by Swiss architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron. The concrete building mirrors the utilitarian design West was going for when he helped design the interior of the YEEZY Gap store.

Across the locations, customers were made to dig into black bulk bags and dumpsters filled with items from the streetwear line.

It was bound to be a mess, though some conformity was ensured beforehand. The guards/dealers, decked out in uniforms of black YEEZY Gap hoodies and boots, transported the garments via black vans printed with a dove emblem, before lining up the offerings in a straight row.
