Hot on the heels of Tesla’s announcements for its second AI Day, Xiaomi has beat the company at its own game and released its own robot, the ‘CyberOne’.
The news was announced at a launch where the company unveiled impressive tech developments, such as its new range of foldable phones, augmented-reality glasses, and a mind-reading headband. The event concluded with a humanoid robot stumbling onto the stage to hand CEO Lei Jun a flower.

Xiaomi’s CyberOne is its latest foray into the robotic sphere after it released a dog-like droid, CyberDog, that was clearly inspired by Boston Dynamic’s Spot.
According to TechCrunch, there is an enormous R&D backing going into its development and it has even claimed several incredible feats, including being able to recognize 85 different environmental sounds and 45 different human emotions. So it essentially could be a very expensive—and cold—shoulder to cry on.
Though, one of its main purposes would be to ease the physical load in factories. Still, all of its functions are a long way off and the display at the unveiling was just to show how far the company has already gotten in terms of its robotic ventures.
CyberOne also comes with advanced visual capabilities and can replicate its environment in amazing 3D detail.
The droid currently stands a little taller than Tesla’s Optimus, coming in at 5’9” and weighing approximately 114 pounds. In terms of how it looks, well, there’s no denying who it might have been modeled after as it carries the same white and black colorway and has a screen for a face.
The announcement was followed up by a few press shots of the robot and even an origin story for CyberOne.
